Sale conditions of wood are specified by the regulation of Director – General of the Sate Forests.
Within the framework of the individual sale , the foresters try to meet the fast growing demand, because more and more people use wood in order to heat their houses. Contrary to general opinion, these are not only village people, even though they prevail among recipients. The growth of firewood demand is the result of occurrence of new housing estates built in the suburbs of large agglomerations, where houses are usually equipped in fireplace heating installations.
Firewood is not only the most ecological heat source, but also is much more attractive in respect of relation of price and electric efficiency, rather than cola, oil, gas or electric power.
In recent years, the Sate Forests increased the sale of firewood of one third – up to over 4 million cubic meters annually. Some of customers choose already prepared and cut into pieces wood, the others very willingly obtain it by themselves after arranging all details and fulfilling particular safety conditions, and after paying the fee; that concerns mainly so called "thinnings". Such a raw material is very cheap, that is why many people from village areas profit from such possibility.

Location
14 i 15 marca w Zespole Szkół Leśnych im. Romana Gesinga w Zagnańsku odbędą się XV Szachowe Mistrzostwa Leśników im. Jana Przygodzkiego o Puchar Dyrektora RDLP w Radomiu. Celem imprezy jest popularyzacja gry w szachy oraz wyłonienie reprezentacji RDLP w Radomiu, która weźmie udział w zawodach na szczeblu krajowym.
W turnieju mogą wziąć udział pracownicy, emeryci i renciści z jednostek organizacyjnych RDLP w Radomiu oraz ich rodziny, a także nauczyciele i uczniowie Zespołu Szkół Leśnych im. Romana Gesinga w Zagnańsku i Zespołu Szkół Leśno-Drzewnych w Garbatce-Letnisku oraz osoby zaproszone. Istnieje także możliwość dopuszczenia do zawodów w trybie nadzwyczajnym osób spoza RDLP w Radomiu i jej jednostek. Zgłoszenia (tylko na kartach zgłoszenia) przyjmowane są do 29 lutego. Zawody zostaną rozegrane indywidualnie i drużynowo.
Zwycięzcy turnieju zostaną uhonorowani pucharami i będą reprezentować RDLP w Radomiu na zawodach szczebla ogólnopolskiego. Puchary otrzymają także najlepsi uczniowie ZSL w Zagnańsku i ZSL-D w Garbatce Letnisku. Wszyscy zawodnicy otrzymają pamiątkowe dyplomy.
Organizatorami zawodów są: Regionalna Dyrekcja Lasów Państwowych w Radomiu, Nadleśnictwo Zagnańsk, Związek Leśników Polskich w RP Region Radomski, Polskie Towarzystwo Leśne Oddział Świętokrzysko-Radomski, Stowarzyszenie Inżynierów i Techników Leśnictwa i Drzewnictwa w Radomiu oraz Międzyzakładowa Organizacja Związkowa NSZZ Solidarność przy RDLP w Radomiu.
